Cornelia Sick – Passionate Photographer

„I have an open eye for people, situations, oddities.

My pictures open new perspectives.“


Born 11-11-1957 in Mt.Pleasant , Michigan, raised in Germany. After school I went to Central Michigan University. In 1979 Internship at Saarbrücker Zeitung ( newspaper), then  apprentice photographer, graduating with a journeyman`s certificate. Then traineeship at the Suttgarter Zeitung (newspaper) and worked there as a freelance photographer until 1988. After a year at the Mainzer Rhein Zeitung (newspaper), I captured the appontments of the Hessian State Government under Prime Minister Walter Wallman from 1989 to 1991. In 1991 I started working for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), first as a picture editorand and from 1996 as a photographer. On behalf of the FAZ I covered photo stories in the United States, Great Britain and France.
